In the first half of 2022, GBC consolidated revenue was NT$226 million, net profit after tax was NT$13.66 million, and after-tax earnings per share (EPS) reached NT$0.23, which benefited from the stable shipment momentum of its COVID-19 testing products orders, and increased sales momentum. GB COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests (HOME version) have entered the major drugstores such as Bigtree Pharmacy in Taiwan, and the overall operation has achieved the third-highest level over the same period of the past year.
GBC continues to strive for cooperation opportunities such as testing reagent bids in Taiwan and Southeast Asia, as well as expanding global distribution layout, and improving the production efficiency of its bamboo plant, driving the overall gross profit margin in the first half of 2022 to 58%, compared with 53% in the same period last year increase, and the operating profit margin in the first half of 2022 will also remain at the level of 10%.
Looking forward to the third quarter of 2022, GBC is actively completing the clinical trial of its household version of the saliva antigen rapid screening reagent product, and the target will be delivered in the third quarter. As the coexistence policy with the epidemic has been implemented for a long time, there is still a certain demand for new coronary pneumonia-related testing products, and the group’s hepatitis reagent products have gradually improved the ordering performance, which will help to create a stable momentum for its accurate testing business.
In addition, GBC actively expands business development such as liquid biopsy (CellBio™ – Circulating Tumor Cell) and CDMO (Contract Development Manufacturing Organization). GBC offers its core R&D capability, manufacturing, production, fill-in and product registration as a One-stop service providing customized reagent service solution based on customers’ needs. GBC further stated that the group will continue to strive for cooperation opportunities such as tenders in Taiwan and Southeast Asia, as well as expanding global distribution network.
